Sunday 23rd saw the restart of the East District U14 League at the new sports complex at Meggatland in Edinburgh. The club has two teams entered wiith John Lees, Gordon Johnston & Alan Jones helping with the 'A' team and Keith Forster & Charlie Lambert the development team.

Just to show the keeness & commitment of our youths - the squad of ten had to be leaving Dunfermline by 8.15am on a Sunday morning. The first game was against last seasons league champions - Watsonians. this was a close tussle but Watsonians took their chances and we found it hard to get past their U14 goalie - whose head was just below the bar - he was tall and wide - infact he looked and played like an adult. One sparkling move

by Aaron Jones saw him dink past the sweeper, draw man mountain of a goalie and slip the ball into the corner of the goals. final score 1 - 3.

The following two games against Stirling and Inverleith were both close affairs with the team playing well and beginning to string together some useful passes.  Neil McGiffen scored in the 1 - 0 victory over Stirling and Louisa Livingston scored the equaliser against Inverleith.

The club holds coaching sessions for youths aged 8 to 16 at Queen Anne on Tuesdays 6 to 7.30pm and Woodmill High 5.30 to 7pm. If you know of any youths who may be interested in having a go at hockey then please let one of the above coaches know.
